BSkyB Announces New Long-Term Growth Plans

      BSkyB, the UK satellite pay-TV operator, added 81,000 subscribers in the three months to June 30. As a result, the operator now has close to 7.4 million DTH subscribers in the UK. BSkyB also announced it was targeting 10 million DTH subscribers in 2010, and that it hopes to have 25-percent penetration of its Sky+ PVR offering sometime in 2010. These are two of the main points of the carrier’s new long-term growth strategy. It also plans to spend another $821.4 million in terms in terms of additional capital investment during the next four years in infrastructure to support growth.
