Once Switzerland makes the switch from analog TV to digital TV, Rudolf Fischer, COO of pay-TV provider cablecom, expects the digital-television market dynamics to change during the next two years in Switzerland, and it could affect the carrier’s ARPU over time. “Video over DSL is undoubtedly going to accelerate up the migration from analog to digital TV. Switzerland’s broadband market will be redistributed within the next 18 to 24 months,” Fischer told Satellite Today. “Our main goal must be to control the multimedia connection in the households. Only if we continue to provide innovative triple-play products at a reasonable price will we see a further growth of customers and a higher ARPU.”
