VOOM, the first comprehensive high-definition (HD) satellite television service, will expand its distribution through a new partnership with Crutchfield Corporation, a large consumer-electronics retailer. Beginning this week, more than five million home-entertainment enthusiasts will have access to VOOM through the Crutchfield Corporation’s Web site and catalog. VOOM, whose satellite television service is provided by Jericho, N.Y.-based Rainbow DBS, Cablevision Systems Corporation‘s [CVC] satellite service division, also will offer Crutchfield customers free technical support for life along with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

“This partnership with Crutchfield marks an important milestone for VOOM, since it greatly expands our presence online and aligns us with an industry leader that’s consistently setting trends in electronics,” said Bill Casamo, executive vice president/marketing and sales for Rainbow DBS.
