Space Imaging Wins Colorado Export Award

On May 18, Colorado’s Gov. Bill Owens will give Space Imaging a state award for export excellence in the large-size manufacturing company category. The Excellence in Exporting award has been given annually since 1970, and it recognizes Colorado companies that demonstrate a commitment to international trade. Space Imaging takes high-resolution pictures with its Ikonos satellite of the Earth, and it sells satellite ground stations to international companies and governments that then purchase satellite imaging time on Ikonos. Space Imaging has sold 14 affiliate ground stations located in the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
