DISH Network Delivers Interactive Television To 8 Million TV Households

      EchoStar Communications [DISH] officials announced today the company’s DISH Network satellite television service launched two new interactive TV channels. The first is Trivia, offered by Buzztime, while the second is Fantasy Cup Auto Racing, provided by Silverstar Holdings.

      DISH Network delivers 22 channels of interactive TV programming to more than 8 million households, allowing EchoStar to take a leading position worldwide in distributing such interactive TV services. EchoStar’s suite of interactive TV programs includes customer support, weather, games, sports and entertainment.

      In other EchoStar news, company officials also said a new channel was added to its local programming in Albuquerque, N.M. Telemundo, known locally as KTEL Channel 25, joins 11 existing local channels the DISH Network already had been offering to its subscribers in the in Albuquerque market.
