ILS Postpones MBSAT Satellite Launch

      International Launch Services (ILS) delayed the launch of the MBSAT satellite on an Atlas III rocket, AC-202, for one day. It now is scheduled for 12:40 a.m. EST Saturday. ILS granted the delay at the request of Space Systems/Loral, the satellite manufacturer.

      The Atlas III launch vehicle remains ready for liftoff at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. MBSAT is intended to provide mobile communications in Japan and Korea. The satellite’s operator would be Mobile Broadcasting Corp. of Japan.
