DirecTV Names New General Counsel

Dan Fawcett has joined DirecTV‘s executive team as executive vice president and general counsel to oversee all legal and business affairs of the domestic DirecTV business.

“The breadth of Dan’s background and expertise in the multichannel industry will be invaluable in managing our legal and business affairs as the DirecTV business continues to grow,” said Mitchell Stern, DirecTV’s president and CEO.

Prior to joining DirecTV, Fawcett served as executive vice president of business and legal affairs for Fox Cable Networks since 1999. In that post, Fawcett oversaw all legal and business affairs functions for Fox Cable’s portfolio of more than 20 managed domestic cable and satellite sports and entertainment networks, including Fox Sports Net and FX.
