Luxsat Ready For Key VOD Role

By Staff Writer | March 8, 2004

Luxsat expects to play a key role in making Video-On Demand (VOD) a reality across Europe. It aims to help satellite, cable and terrestrial players bring a rich VOD service to consumers.

The company’s patented IP-DVB (Internet Protocol – Digital Video Broadcasting) technological, end-to-end home media platform will provide instant access to movies and TV programs, as well as video games and music tracks. Luxsat will license the technology to pay-TV operators across Europe as well as to use it for its own operations in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Luxsat CEO Thierry Maman told Satellite Today he expects to have more than 2.4 million subscribers in 2008.

An exclusive in-depth interview with Thierry Maman can be found in the March 15 issue of Satellite News. For more information about subscribing to PBI Media’s satellite newsletters, check out our Web site at www.satellitetoday.com.
