DirecTV Latin America Emerges From Chapter 11

DirecTV Latin America LLC has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy court protection. The company has returned to “solid financial footing,” said Larry N. Chapman, president and chief operating officer of DirecTV Latin America.
As previously reported, the company filed for Chapter 11 protection in March 2003 to aggressively address its financial and operational challenges. The filing applied only to the U.S. entity and did not include any of the operating companies in Latin America and the Caribbean.
