AsiaSat Inks BTV Deal

AsiaSat has reached a new key lease agreement with the national broadcaster in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The lease agreement calls for Bangladesh Television (BTV) to use C-band capacity on AsiaSat 3S to broadcast BTV World, a television channel for overseas service across the Asia Pacific region.
The Bangla-language channel will begin broadcasting early next month. Peter Jackson, AsiaSat’s CEO commented: “The introduction of this Bangla-language channel on AsiaSat 3S further strengthens our television bouquet for South Asia.” Mostafizur Rahman, director general of BTV, added: “We chose AsiaSat 3S because of its excellent channel neighborhood and strong audience penetration.”
