Universal Electronics To Supply Remote Control Products To Sky Italia

Cypress, Calif.-based Universal Electronics [Nasdaq: UEIC] has entered an agreement with Italian satellite TV provider Sky Italia to supply technology for Sky Italia two-device, universal remote controls to be bundled with its set-top boxes.
The remote controls work with the Sky digital set-top box, as well as consumers’ televisions. The Sky remote, together with a Sky Italia digital broadcast satellite subscription, gives consumers options to control how they watch broadcast content. UEI supplies Sky Italia with a version of the Sky remote control adapted to local requirements for common Italian television brands.
