Space Imaging Gets Forest Service Contract

      The Denver-based remote sensing firm Space Imaging has received a contract to continue providing geographic information services (GIS) to the U.S. Forest Service‘s regional office in Vallejo, Calif., its Remote Sensing Laboratory in Sacramento and the 18 national forests throughout California’s Region 5. The contract has a maximum value of $1.3 million over three years. Space Imaging has provided GIS support services on-site at Forest Service offices in Region 5 for the past 12 years. Under this recent contract, Space Imaging will provide professional services and expertise in the areas of vegetation mapping, inventory and analysis, geospatial data capture, database updating, natural resource modeling and analysis, GIS application development, and cartographic map production.
