By Staff Writer | January 23, 2004

France’s Netupsat has signed an agreement with SES Astra to use the Astra satellite system to provide high-speed Internet services. Labeled “Netbysky,” the high- speed Internet service via Astra’s 19.2-degree East orbital position will be delivered to regions of France not served by ADSL, about 40 percent of the country. The return channel for the service is provided via the traditional telephone modem and via the existing Internet service provider of the user.
