Hughes Network Systems Supplies Broadband System To Italy’s Wind

Hughes Network Systems (HNS), a satellite and wireless broadband subsidiary of Hughes Electronics [NYSE: HS], has signed an agreement with Italy’s Wind Telecomunicazioni to deploy its AIReach Broadband 9000 wireless access system nationwide. Wind will use the AIReach 26 GHz system in both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations for the backhauling of second- and third-generation cellular networks and for small/medium-size enterprise last-mile access.
