By Staff Writer | January 13, 2004

GlobalNet [OTCBB:GLBT] has successfully tested its pre-paid mobile satellite system, which serves Turkey, and areas to the south and east, including the eastern Mediterranean, Egypt, Lebanon and Iraq. Initially, GlobalNet intends to focus its efforts on Iraq in an attempt to service as many of the estimated 16 million residents and coalition forces that do not have access to a stable communication network. This project will serve as a template to carry all voice traffic from the countries currently in negotiations or awaiting approval from either the Department of Defense or State Department.
