OptiStreams Introduces New Satellite Access Gateway

OptiStreams, a Fresno, Calif.-based private satellite network provider, has introduced a new line of wired and wireless networking hardware designed for consumer, small office/home office and small business users of Hughes Network Systems‘ DirecWay satellite services.

OptiStreams’ new satellite access gateway with the broadband embedded technology interface (BETI) is a customized satellite gateway using Microsoft‘s [Nasdaq: MSFT] new embedded XP platform. The BETI satellite gateway was designed in response to a need for multi-user satellite product for smaller networks, company officials said.
