GlobalNet Signs Mobile Phone Service Accord For Iraq

      Woodlands, Tex.-based GlobalNet [OTCBB: GLBT] has been awarded a contract for the termination of voice and data mobile satellite traffic originating from U.S. troops in Iraq. Global Telesat, a privately held company that owns a satellite gateway in the region, awarded the contract to GlobalNet. Global Telesat, using the Globalstar satellite constellation, is offering U.S. troops five minutes of free mobile phone calling anywhere in the world until Feb. 14. GlobalNet is also seeking an exclusive arrangement for worldwide termination of voice and data mobile satellite communications originating from Iran and Israel.
