Guardian Mobility, anOttawa, Canada-based provider of tracking devices for industrial customers, is using GPS receivers supplied by Finland-based Fastrax for the Guardian Sentinel GPS tracking device. The Guardian Sentinel, which will become commercially available in the first quarter of 2004, is used by alarm companies, law enforcement agencies and heavy construction firms for tracking and monitoring. Guardian Sentinel also features an embedded one-way Globalstar satellite communication modem, which transmits information from the field to the home base.
