GlobeCast, a Paris-based satellite service provider, has partnered with Fileas, a provider of telecommunications services via satellite, to provide a fourth satellite platform for Radio France Internationale (RFI), which will allow the French radio network to deliver its digital radio signal to Africa.

GlobeCast manages signal transmission for RFI, picking up the audio feed at the Maison de la Radio in central Paris and providing multiplex, uplink and C-band space capacity on Eutelsat‘s Atlantic Bird 3 from its SERTE technical operations center, for distribution to network head-ends in Africa. Fileas provides the encoding for RFI’s signal, including installation, operation and support.
