ARINC to Provide Satellite Communications System to Saudi Airline

Annapolis, Md.-based ARINC has been awarded a contract from Saudi Arabian corporate jet operator National Air Services (NAS) to provide GlobalLink radio and satellite communications for its fleet of Boeing [NYSE: BA] jets. Financial terms were not disclosed. NAS, which provides private aviation services throughout the Middle East, plans to launch a new Saudi domestic airline to compete with Saudi Arabian Airlines in 2004. Starting with six planes serving domestic routes, NAS plans to expand to 20 planes within four years and to move into the Middle East regional airline market.
