EchoStar Extends Local Channels To Tennessee, Oregon

Littleton, Colo.-based EchoStar Communications [Nasdaq: DISH] has agreed to offer local TV channels via satellite to Eugene, Ore., and Memphis, Tenn. Local channels at the two locations will be offered at a $1 per month discount to the regular price of $5.99 per month for EchoStar customers until the local ABC station is added to the package. An additional Dish 500 antenna is required to receive the local channels via satellite. With the addition of Memphis and Eugene, EchoStar now offers local channels in 73 U.S. cities.
