Intelsat Kicks Off New Maryland Teleport

Intelsat has expanded its terrestrial network by powering up a new mountaintop teleport in Hagerstown, Md. Intelsat’s teleport will provide service to 100 existing customers of GlobalConnex, the operator’s bundled portfolio of hybrid communication services that use both satellite and fiber technology. SuperOnline, a Turkish Internet service provider, is the first GlobalConnex customer to use the new teleport’s facilities to connect its customers to the U.S. Internet backbone.
