Nomadix, a public-access solutions provider, has signed a deal with Hughes Network Systems to supply key technology for the company’s Wi-Fi access service. HNS is using Nomadix’s access gateways running the Nomadix service engine software. The NSE software allows HNS to deliver secure Wi-Fi service by solving issues of user connectivity, security, authentication and billing that are encountered when deploying a public-access network.

Separately, Hughes Network Systems Europe said it signed a value-added reseller agreement with EXCELERATE Technology a European VPN technology manufacturer and service provider. Under this agreement, EXCELERATE will market the DirecWay broadband satellite service and the e2Work VPN technology as a bundled solution to enterprises wishing to deploy VPN to office locations not serviced by terrestrial broadband.
