Gilat Inks Deal With Valero

Spacenet, a U.S. subsidiary of Gilat Satellite Networks [Nasdaq: GILTF], has signed a deal with Valero Energy [NYSE: VLO] to provide a broadband satellite communications network for the company’s 4,000 retail and wholesale outlets in the United States and Canada. The network will be used for the support of rapid credit authorization and other interactive data applications.
Valero said that it has established a multi-year contract with McLean, Va.-based Spacenet for provision of its Connexstar broadband VSAT service. The Connexstar service will be used to support both Valero’s wholesale and retail business requirements.
