Arianespace, Boeing, Mitsubishi Formalize Alliance

By Staff Writer | July 30, 2003

The much talked about launch alliance among France’s Arianespace, U.S.-based Boeing Launch Services (BLS), and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was formalized Wednesday with the signing of an agreement. Under the agreement, the three companies will create a service offering that allows customers to transition among launch platforms for flexibility to ensure on-time delivery to orbit. This tri-party alliance also preserves each launcher’s ability to individually market and promote its own platforms and capabilities to customers.

While the benefits of this commercial launch service alliance will be available to current and future satellite customers, each launch services provider will remain autonomous.
