Xantic Signs $45M Support Services Contract With ESA

By Staff Writer | July 16, 2003

Xantic, a Dutch satellite communications provider, has signed a $45 million contract to provide maintenance and operational support services for the European Space Agency‘s Perth and New Norcia earth stations in Western Australia.

The terms of the contract include telemetry, tracking control and monitoring (TTC&M), launch and early operations phase and deep space tracking, and support for all other launch activities. There is an option to extend the contract for two further five-year periods after the current one ends.

Xantic has been responsible for operating and maintaining ESA’s new ground station facilities in Perth and New Norcia. As ESA has no full-time staff in Australia, Xantic has also been dealing with governmental bodies and meeting statutory obligations on ESA’s behalf.
