Scopus Upgrades Sky Italia Digital TV Platforms

Israel’s Scopus Network Technologies has been selected to upgrade digital broadcasting platforms for Sky Italia, the new name of Italian pay-TV satellite operator Telepiu, which was acquired by News Corp [NYSE: NWS] and Telecom Italia [NYSE: TI] earlier this year.
Scopus is equipping Sky Italia with digital broadcast head-end systems and project integration, based on its Codico product line. The upgraded head-ends are to be located in Rome and Milan and will be able to transmit multiple channels of digital content direct-to-home throughout Italy.
