SnapTrack, a subsidiary of Qualcomm [Nasdaq: QCOM], and Motorola [NYSE: MOT] have agreed to provide CDMA carrier China Unicom [NYSE: CHU] with SnapTrack’s assisted GPS location server platforms. SnapTrack’s position location technology enhances Qualcomm’s embedded A-GPS technology, including the gpsOne hybrid A-GPS product.

Under the terms of agreement, Motorola’s Chinese unit will integrate SnapTrack’s location server software into its mobile communications system-positioning server, which will be provided to China Unicom. The two companies see a rapidly expanding location-services market in China.
