DirecWay Expands In Russia

Hughes Network Systems (HNS) has signed an agreement to supply TM SAT, a privately owned Russian satellite service provider, with a DirecWay broadband satellite network. That network would include a central network operations center (NOC), along with remote terminals.
TM SAT will offer high-speed Internet access and broadband business applications, such as distance learning, business television and video conferencing, by using HNS broadband remote satellite terminals. The new NOC will be operated on TM SAT’s behalf by the Russian Satellite Communications Co. (RSCC) at its operations center in Dubna, north of Moscow.
