ARINC Launches New Satellite Broadband Operation
By Staff Writer | June 13, 2003
ARINC has set up a business unit to pursue opportunities in providing aeronautical satellite voice, narrowband and broadband data services for the commercial airline, government/military and business aviation markets.
The new group — ARINC Satellite Services — will be headed by Robert B. Thompson, the senior director of the Annapolis, Md.-based company’s SKYLink aeronautical broadband services unit. ARINC Satellite Services combines the company’s GLOBALink/Satellite operations, which provides Inmarsat voice and data communications to airlines, government, and military customers, with its SKYLink Ku-band satellite business, currently targeted at the large business jet market.
