iDirect Software Boosts Efficiency

      iDirect Technologies, a Reston, Va.-based company that develops broadband IP hardware and software, has unveiled its latest software – iDS v.3.2 – providing two-way Internet connections via satellite.

      The new software will enable voice-over-IP calls over a satellite network to use 50 percent less bandwidth than other satellite technologies, according to the company. In addition, the new carrier spacing capability allows operators to reduce overall bandwidth consumption by as much as 14 percent.
