Recent STB Deals Boost Pace

By Staff Writer | June 3, 2003

Pace Micro Technology [London: PIC.L], a U.K. set-top box (STB) manufacturer, has signed multiple key deals recently with satellite pay-TV operators. In May, it clinched deals with Sky Italia in Italy, Viasat in the Nordic region and Foxtel in Australia to supply STBs.

Graham North, Pace’s regional director for the United Kingdom and Ireland, said he hopes for further deals in the near future. He told SATELLITE TODAY: “As these three opportunities have come through, the whole market has begun to strengthen again, there are others that are probably looking to come through. We are now in a very strong position and talking to many other operators out there as well.”

An exclusive in-depth interview with Graham North can be found in the June 4 issue of Interspace. For more information about subscribing to PBI Media’s satellite newsletters, check out our Web site at http://www.telecomweb.com/catalog
