SES Astra, Kinderkanal Extends Transponder Leasing Deal

SES Astra, a unit of SES Global [Luxembourg: SESG],reached a new long-term agreement for Kinderkanal (KI.KA) to use transponder capacity for analog broadcasts and prime time transmissions.
KI.KA can be viewed an additional two hours per day from 19:00 until 21:00 on Astra transponder 49 at 19.2 degrees East. The free-to-air analog KI.KA service is received in more than 22 million homes, allowing German-speaking viewers across Europe to enjoy commercial-free TV programming for children.
