CSI Wireless Signs Telematics Deal with Directed Electronics

By Staff Writer | January 10, 2003

CSI Wireless Inc. has signed an agreement to be the exclusive telematics hardware supplier to Directed Electronics, an aftermarket vehicle security and remote- start product manufacturer. CSI (Calgary, Alberta) will provide a telematics product that serves as the enabling technology for Directed’s new Directrack stolen vehicle tracking system.

Directrack will be sold under four brands–Viper, Python, Clifford and Automate–through the company’s network of 5,000 dealers. Directrack’s telematics hardware, based on CSI’s Asset-Link platform, combines wireless and Global Positioning System capabilities with Directed’s alarm systems.
