Verestar, Verizon Receive SPECTRUM Contract from State Department

      Verestar, a provider of satellite integration services, and Verizon Communications [NYSE: VZ] have received a SPECTRUM contract from theU.S. Department of State to provide satellite and terrestrial communication services for U.S. embassies and facilities. Verestar expects to receive up to $36 million annually from this 10-year, indefinite- and -quantity contract.

      The SPECTRUM program will deliver communications services for international private line, satellite, Internet protocol and ATM protocols from 64 Kbps to OC-12 data rates. The contract includes performance incentives and credits.
