Eutelsat Activates IP Link

Eutelsat has launched a new IP-based communications network between its Paris headquarters and its three European satellite suppliers. The fully satellite-based interactive network enables Eutelsat and its suppliers to track ongoing satellite programmes that require constant contact and regular briefings via a high-quality interactive IP link that delivers rich multimedia content.

Eutelsat CEO Giuliano Berretta said: “This new network illustrates the efficiency benefits offered by satellite-based networks to companies that are in constant contact with suppliers and partners. It will enable us to reduce by more than 50 per cent our travel costs to satellite suppliers with whom we have daily contact.”
