Alcatel wins Apsat, but loses SES pair

      Alcatel Space last week signed a $118 million contract with APT Satellite Holdings covering the design and manufacture of a 50 transponder high-capacity telecommunication satellite and its associated ground segment. Alcatel will use its SB4000 bus for the APSTAR VB project, and the bird will be equipped with 50 Ku-band and C-band transponders.

      Alcatel has also won a 150 million euro contract to continue providing technical services for the Guyana Space Center in Kourou, French Guyana, for the next five years.
