Pace Micro Technology Americas has reached an agreement with NET SAT, Brazil’s largest satellite operator, and Gradiente, a manufacturers of electronic consumer goods in the Brazilian market, to provide 40,000 satellite set-top boxes this year.

Under the deal Pace will supply a minimum of 40,000 ‘Worldboxes’ to Gradiente, which will assemble the boxes, as well as market and distribute them to NET SAT’s satellite service consumers.

The Worldbox is currently deployed in New Zealand and Mexico and is a DVB-compliant set-top box designed for reception of digital satellite services. It features an on-screen electronic programme guide (EPG), menus (with language options) and an integrated modem.

      • Pace Micro Technology has appointed Nigel Stacey as its new operations director. Stacey will be responsible for Pace’s worldwide purchasing, distribution and manufacturing operations and joins the company from Telewest Communications, where he was director of group purchasing and logistics.
