Avanti Communications has launched its new Pay-As-You-Go high-speed Internet connection service across Europe with no monthly subscription fees, the U.K. satellite operator announced July 20.
Avanti will offer a high-bandwidth Ka-band service that covers the frequencies between 26.5 GHz and 40 GHz, while allowing its partners to re-sell satellite broadband services on a data usage basis, rather than through a monthly recurring charge. The company said its pricing model would be made available to new and existing shared bandwidth Virtual Network Operators (VNOs).
Avanti will deliver the new service through its Hylas-1 Ka-band satellite, which was launched in 2010.
