KSAT has implemented ground station services out of the Svalbard Satellite Station for Airbus Defense and Space, ensuring access to every orbit (14 out of 14) for the company’s Spot and Pleiades satellites.

According to KSAT, Svalbard Satellite Station grants Airbus full orbit coverage for its constellation due to its location at 78 degrees north, just a hair’s breadth from the North Pole. Being able to acquire data from all passes in one place makes it possible for Airbus to significantly reduce the time from data collection to delivery of information to its customers. The solution also offers additional flexibility on mission planning and the data acquisition process.

The one–stop-shop concept provides a homogenous and global service with improved reliability for customers, KSAT stated.
