Marlink Launches Terralink VSAT Service for Land Customers

By Caleb Henry | May 3, 2016

[Via Satellite 05-03-2016] Marlink has unveiled a new satcom service for Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) users in the land segment called Terralink Premium Flex, which enables customers to increase their bandwidth on-demand in order to more cost-effectively meet temporary needs for higher data rates.

Employing Bandwidth on Demand (BOD) technology, Terralink Premium Flex lets customers choose a service package adapted to daily routines that allows the provision of extra bandwidth as and when it is needed, rather than forcing users to choose a plan to accommodate their most data-hungry applications 24/7. Once the higher bandwidth period is over, customers are automatically reverted back to their standard data rate. According to Marlink, the service eliminates the common scenario of paying for satellite bandwidth that remains unused.

Marlink’s Terralink service portfolio offers fixed and mobile broadband solutions for customers in diverse segments including energy and utilities, humanitarian activities and the media. The company provides 24/7 global support and assistance for Terralink customers operating around the world, which are often in remote locations without terrestrial communication networks.
