[Via Satellite 02-19-2016] SpeedCast International has entered a new agreement with Russia-based Gazprom Space Systems (GSS), to expand satellite communications services in Africa. This partnership allows SpeedСast to use capacity on GSS’ Yamal 402 Ku-band satellite to provide high-performance services to oil and gas companies across Africa.

SpeedCast leverages uplink capabilities based in Germany so that customers can land traffic directly in Europe. Yamal 402 is located at 55 degrees east and launched in 2012.
