Avanti Inks Capacity Deal with Balkan Telekom

[Via Satellite 04-02-2015] Avanti Communications has signed a follow-on contract with Balkan Telekom, located in Turkey, for new capacity. The deal provides Ka-band capacity from the Hylas 2 High Throughput Satellite (HTS). Launched in 2012, Hylas 2 covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“The flexibility of Avanti’s network has given us the opportunity to increase our addressable market with a range of new packages. Delivering a range of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), these are leading broadband satellite Internet solutions for businesses that remain uncovered by the terrestrial providers. Avanti’s Hylas 2 satellite provides extensive coverage of the major countries that we want to target,” said Hüseyin Aktaş, CEO of Balkan Telekom.
