Hamadoun Toure Joins Inmarsat Board

[Via Satellite 01-29-2015] Inmarsat has appointed Hamadoun Toure as an additional non-executive member of the board. Toure, who will join the board on March 1 as a member of the Nominations Committee, was previously secretary general of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

In his previous role he worked to fulfill the ITU’s mandate to “connect the world” and help achieve the Millennium Development Goals set forth by the United Nations. He actively promoted the ITU Connect series across the globe, raising $55 million to improve telecommunications infrastructure in Africa alone.
