[Via Satellite 09-25-2014] Aireon has added Vincent Capezzuto to its management team as chief technology officer and vice president of engineering. Capezzuto is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of the AireonSpace-based Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast system.

Prior to joining Aireon, Capezzuto served as the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) director of Program Management Organization (PMO) Air Traffic Systems where he was tasked with organizing a new PMO within the Air Traffic Organization. He brings more than 30 years of experience in air traffic management.

“[Capezzuto] led the development and deployment of the largest ground-based ADS-B system in the world. It is only fitting that he now takes on the task of deploying the world’s first global space-based ADS-B system,” said Don Thoma, president and CEO of Aireon.
