[Via Satellite 08-13-2014] ViaSat has announced new “Freedom” plans that provide virtually unlimited satellite Internet through Exede. Customers on the Eastern Seaboard and the Gulf Coast, as well as some or all of California, Arizona, Minnesota, Alaska, Hawaii, and Florida will have access to at least 150 GBs of monthly data without a strict data allowance.

On Aug. 18, ViaSat intends to offer double or triple the existing data allotments to Exede Evolution customers, which currently have unlimited email and web page access. The High Throughput Satellite (HTS) ViaSat 1 powers the company’s Exede consumer service.
