[Via Satellite 07-23-2014] Algerian VSAT operator Divona, has signed a contract with Eutelsat for a 72 MHz transponder on Eutelsat 21B. The multiyear contract enables Divona to provide increased satellite connectivity to mobile telecom operators and enterprises in Algeria and Southern Europe.

Eutelsat has been actively pursuing and building partnerships in the Middle East with telcos and broadcasters as they deploy digital infrastructure. The Divona contract increases the number of transponders Eutelsat has leased to Algerians to nine.

“The steady expansion of our activities in Algeria reflects our ambition to support the business of telecom operators who are at the forefront of the transition to digital across the entire country,” said Michel Azibert, deputy CEO and chief commercial and development officer, Eutelsat.
