[Via Satellite 07-11-2014] In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) provider Global Eagle Entertainment has, effective immediately, appointed Dave Davis as the company’s new CEO and member of the Board of Directors. Global Eagle said Davis’ new position is part of the company’s plan following two recent content acquisitions and that of Row 44.

Davis formerly served as CFO for Global Eagle in 2013 and COO in 2014. He held prominent positions at Northwest Airlines as EVP and CFO, and was heavily involved in the merger of Northwest and Delta Air Lines. Prior to Global Eagle, Davis served as senior managing director of Perseus LLC, partner and co-founder of Bearpath Capital and CFO of Kraton Polymers and US Airways. He highlighted international markets as a top target for Global Eagle — a move several other IFC providers are also making in hopes of attracting more customers outside North America.

“In order to capitalize on the opportunity ahead of us, we will concentrate on executing our strategic plan to grow our international base of customers, fully integrate our operations and further strengthen and expand our product offering,” said Davis.
