[Via Satellite 07-08-2014] Technip, an engineering, construction and project management company serving the oil and gas industry, signed a new contract with MTN Communications to boost coverage for its global fleet. Having already worked with MTN for the past 10 years, the recent contract brings additional broadband communications to more than double the previous number served by MTN.

Technip said the increasingly data-intensive needs of its business influenced the contract decision. MTN is providing live event streaming from vessels for clients to watch progress on a project, or for headquarters to manage emergencies. Traditional voice, Internet and video services are also being provided in cabins and common areas.
