ViaSat Introduces New Exede Business Platform

[Via Satellite 05-12-2014] ViaSat launched its Exede Business platform, which will provide medium and small-sized businesses with high-speed satellite Internet, data allowance, priority maintenance and 24/7 United States-based customer support. The new service will be available in some or all areas in the more than 40 states covered by ViaSat 1’s satellite network.

“Businesses in every corner of the country need reliable access to high-speed Internet to compete in their markets,” said Lisa Scalpone, vice president of ViaSat Broadband. “Exede Business provides a cost-effective option for business-grade high speed Internet service.”

The service includes Internet speeds of around 15 Mbps and total monthly data allowance of 60 GB. Half of this allowance is available between the times of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. (the peak data period), and the other half is available in the early morning data zone between 3:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Exede Business also offers a persistent IP address, supporting services such as remote Local Area Network (LAN) access, secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other applications.
